I’m a wife to my best friend and mother of two little ones - a girl, 8, and a boy, 4. I am currently homeschooling both of my kiddos. The Coopers are big on dance parties and our spirituality. To say we have our hands full is an understatement, but I know we wouldn’t want it any other way.

I was born and raised in Texas and have lived in several corners of Houston - from the historic Heights to the East End. I love tacos for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I adore music. The cello is my heart in an instrument form. I’m a sucker for 90s R&B and 50s and 60s Motown. I love soulful house music, musical theater, and almost anything in between. I loved music so much that in the early 2000s I DJ’d around town and the state briefly. I was the first female DJ to belong to the Soular Grooves Collective/Radio show, which is known globally, thanks to its creator, DJ Sun.

My love of music was inherited from my parents. I remember how my father would play Latin Breed’s “Breaking the Rules” cassette tape loudly as he cleaned the house. I recall sitting in the back of our red Pontiac LeMans in between my older brother and sister as my mom sat in the front with her foot on the dash, tapping away at the sounds of Blood, Sweat, and Tears “Spinning Wheel” and Chicago’s “Beginnings.” They were high school sweethearts and married for almost 44 years before my father passed away due to illness. I love looking at their wedding photos and seeing the family and events of the day.
